The NW Officer is a point of contact to facilitate the distribution of information from both residents to the local police and the local police to residents.  The station at Debenham is the local police station supporting Occold with Police Constable 873 Clare Wayman and Police Community Support Officer 3170 Emma Cowell designated for Occold.

There are 6 monthly meetings run by the police for NW officers and a regular Newsletter is sent out. The local Police Constable is invited to attend Parish Council Meetings to present his report on all incidents in the area.

A booklet (guide) exists explaining the scheme which operates within the Safer Neighbourhood Team.
