If you go out, always leave at least one light on so that your property looks occupied. Spring also brings an increase in unattended cars being broken into when left in isolated places or beauty spots. If you are taking the car please follow some simple steps. Before you leave home take things out of the car that do not need to go with you, your lap top computer or tools for example, and leave them at home. When you park up take any valuables with you, in particular mobile phones, cash and portable sat nav equipment. All are attractive to would-be thieves. If you have to leave anything in the car lock it out of sight. And finally, lock the car when you leave it.
