  Play Area

BS01333_.gif (2013 bytes)

The Play Area has been provided as a village amenity and is managed by ORAC
in conjunction with the Village Hall

News - May 06

The ORAC team would like to extend their thanks to Jan and Diana from Pightles for arranging the repair and securing of the picnic bench in the play area.

The play area has been freshened up for spring so please enjoy! As we are forever having to replace the fence panelling, ORAC are now looking into sourcing some hedging that could ultimately replace it.

If anyone spots deliberate misuse of the area, please let us know!

ORAC are looking into refurbishing the play area over the coming months by replacing the wooden gates with metal ones and replenishing the bark.

We are also looking into the possibility of planting some hedging around the whole area so that ultimately we can replace the fencing.

We are again applying for a small grant to help with this – so fingers crossed this time!

We are also pleased to report that various independent sources confirm that the mushrooms (common name ‘Velvet Shank’) growing in the play area bark are harmless and in fact edible (we even have a recipe if anyone is interested!)
