Two village charities exist to dispense funds and gifts to residents of the parish.

The Henman's Charity provides funds to assist with heating costs (originally the Trustees handed out coal).

The Lees and Last Charity uses its limited money to give cash to some villagers to help with the additional expense of Christmas (originally the Trustees handed out bread each day)

Both charities aims are to hand out gifts to those in the village who may not be so hard up financially but who have some need or other reason why the Trustees feel they may appreciate a small gesture of goodwill.

The Trustees can consider anyone as a possible beneficiary. There is no age qualification.

The Trustees would like to hear from anyone who wishes to put forward themselves or anyone else who may benefit.

For example, recently it was suggested that some cash be given as book tokens to those in the village who are on their way to University to help cover the high cost of course books.

The Trustees meet just before Christmas each year and attempt to deliver the cash and gifts during the holiday period. If you have any queries please contact:

Lynette Bulley (chair of Trustees) - 01 379 678 123 or
Stephen Hubner (clerk) – 01 379 678 360

Full reports and accounts will be presented to the Annual Parish Meetings each year
