ORAC
Occold Recreation & Amenities Council
Registered Charity No. 295058

Our mission

  • To promote the benefit of the community of Occold and its neighbourhood by associating with local authorities, voluntary organisations and the community in a common effort to advance education
  • To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the community

To achieve this, ORAC:

  • Manages and maintains the Village Hall - including the Play Area - for the benefit of local organisations and private bookings

  • Organise fund-raising to achieve the above and also bring together all those in the community. This is achieved through the 100 Club, glass & paper recycling and a number of annual events (see below)

  • To raise funds for a New Village Hall to replace the existing - and rather dilapidated - building

  • Provide a quarterly Newsletter for articles, promoting events etc and delivered free to every household and support the village Web Site to provide an additional forum for the exchange of information and timely updates

Glass & Paper Recycling

Dogs

Please use the facilities when you can as the recycling payments received by ORAC help your Village Hall.

If banks are getting full, please report it and try not to leave bottles or litter in the area, which could attract rats

Please contact Dawn Crisp if there is a problem with any recycling bin or if the paper bank is nearly full.

If the bottle banks are getting full, please tell Andy Tanser at the Beaconsfield Arms

Please keep dogs on a lead in the village, bag their mess up and leave in the bin provided in Redlingfield Road. And keep them off the Playing Field and Play Area - use the walkway between the Play Area and the boundary hedge.

How about giving your dog a real walk once in a while and try Sue Welch's circular walk around the village (leaflets in the Beaconsfield Arms hallway or viewable at Circular Walk).
