How it Works

An Open Forum enabling any individual or organisation to raise a topic for discussion. Others are invited to respond and all such responses will be available for all to see thus promoting a forum for open discussion.

The forum will have a rapid turnaround and all topics and responses will usually appear within 48hrs. In addition, any new topics or responses to existing topics will be highlighted on the web site Front Page.

I hope all residents find this a useful facility - so one of the inevitable first topics requests a response to what you think of it!

Note to Spammers: This is not an automated system so do not bother to target it - your topic or response will not get through!!

Rules of Engagement
  • Any topic, can be raised e.g. where can I find a good plumber, does anyone know about the history of <name>, what facilities do we need to improve village amenities, how about holding such and such an event etc etc

  • When submitting a topic or a response, ensure you identify whether you speak on behalf of an organisation or are making a personal comment by filling in the appropriate Name or Organisation.

  • Topics or responses will not be published if they are from 'anonymous' - and that includes any Napoleon Bonaparte, Santa Claus or Mickey Mouse in the village!

  • Any topic or response considered to be indecent, rude, offensive or insulting will not be published - such submissions add no value to an open discussion. Neither will the Discussion Forum permit any sort of flame war between named individuals. The Editor will be the Gatekeeper and his decision will be final

  •  Each entry will contain the topic, responses and a form to make a response. But you can also use the Contact Us option via email particularly if you wish to attach e.g. pictures etc. Or drop into Rose Cottage - the kettle is always on! For those without Internet access who may have heard of this facility, written responses are quite acceptable.

  • Time critical questions can optionally have a closing date for responses after which no further responses will be published

Submit a Topic
Technical Limitation: Placing a description of your topic in the box below regrettably leads to the 'formatting' being 'lost' - currently I have no idea why but I am working on it. If you have a longish response and may wish to include pictures etc, it may be a better option to email the editor - formatting will be preserved and you can add attachments. If you use this option, putting 'Discussion Forum - New Topic' in the subject line would be very helpful.

Also, past responses using such a form have been found to contain errors in email addresses and telephone numbers - there is nothing we can do to verify these. So , if you choose to use the form below, please take especial care when entering your details.

Address details have not been requested as we are sensitive to publishing these on a web site with global exposure. If you wish to include an address, please do so in the text of the topic.

All fields are optional but Name or Organisation as 'Anonymous' (or synonym) will not be accepted
