6 May 07 - Winning League Run

Occold have climbed to 2nd place in the league with an unbeaten run in 2007. (won 9, drawn 1). With just four games left to the end of the season, Occold’s young players are very hopeful of promotion next season (3 home 1 away).	Occold’s leading goal scorer is the remarkable 17 year old Sam Buckmaster scoring 35 goals this season with last years Player of the Year Jeremy Ashdown scoring 22 goals.

Occold FC got off to good start by winning both of its pre-season friendly games 4-1. In their league games they have since won against Dickleburgh (6-1) and Fressingfeld (4-1), drawn with Harts (2-2) and lost to Redgrave (2-1). The manager is pleased with the performance of his young team.	The club would like to thank Kevin & Monica Chittock of Debenham Garage for their generous sponsorship of the new kit. October games (all away) are: 1st Oct - Coddenham 15th Oct - Diss Greyhound 22nd Oct - Bungay Town

29 Jun 06 - End of Year Awards at the ‘Beaky’

Occold FC had a successful Presentation Night at the Beaconsfield Arms on the 2nd June. About 50 attended and were rewarded with an excellent buffet by Wendy.

The Chairman, Paul Durrant, thanked everyone for coming to the awards. Occold FC had a good season bringing in a lot of young players. He hoped that the club will continue its success in the future with a continuing emphasis on young players.

Bouquets of flowers were presented to Wendy Turner and Sheila Durrant for their hard work over the season. A bouquet and gift voucher was presented as a special thank you to Brenda Hunt for the tiresome task of washing the kit including the quite horrendous socks!

Most of the players have signed up again to the club for the coming season which kicks off on the 3rd September. Interested in joining? - give Woody a shout!

Player’s Player - Jeremy Ashdown
Only 16 and scored 34 goals in his first season with the club

Manager’s Player - Barry Garland
For his hard work with the club

Chairs Player Chris Jay
A 17 year old with his second season with the club

Clubman - Sean Hawes (of Diss)
His first season with the club. Loyally there come rain or shine despite spending a lot of time on the subs bench.
