Chatsworth Hotel
Soldiers
Wonder if you can help. I have a photograph taken around 1918 of Chatsworth Hotel with lots of soldiers at the front, they could have just returned from France as my grandfather is in the picture and was in France and we wonderes if it was in Felixstow. The photographer was A L White of Ipswich & Felixstow. I have tried to trace the hotel with no luck Christine Humphries

Broom
Coastguard
My ancestor William Charles Broom was a Coastguard at Felixstowe Ferry (1841 Census), his children were born at Bawdsey. Do you have any information about coastguards in the Felixstowe area, or know of anyone who would know more about this. I am interested in find out what William would have been doing as a coastguard at this time?Kate Hurley

LoweI emigrated to Oz in the 1970s and lost contact with my brother-in-law Kenneth Gordon Lowe who when I was in contact with him was a hotel owner in Penrith Cumbria. I know he moved to Felixstowe in the late 70s/80s where again he owned a hotel (name not known). He had a daughter Pamela who in the 80s lived in a flat in High Street. As I am now getting old I would very much like any information as to what happened to any of my relatives. Thank you. Brian Hunt

I have a William Chapman born in Falkenham married Mary and Jennings born in Eye. Both born around 1795. I then have James Chapman, born in 1751, Williams, father, married Elizabeth basket. 1755. My question is, can anybody from your organisation. Offer me any help, please. This would be very much appreciated. Ray Chapman

White HouseThe house where we live (see Address) was originally built in 1750 and we have never been able to get hold of the old deeds which should go back to at least 1804. It is a complete mystery to us that we can't find anything about the house when it must have been one of the first to be built in Felixstowe. Can you help us with this quest?Linda Anderson
